Day 1
Arrive Cape Town
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our local representative and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city. Once you've checked in, take some time to relax and freshen up after your journey. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure – you can choose to unwind at the hotel or begin exploring the beautiful surroundings. Whether it's a stroll along the V&A Waterfront, a visit to a nearby café, or simply soaking in the views of Table Mountain, the choice is yours. Overnight stay at hotel in Cape Town. Cape Town, Known as the chic city of South Africa; Cape Town is famous world-wide for its Table Mountain, vast lands of Cape Winelands and beautifully-decorated coastline. The Winelands of Cape have a distinct flavour of their ancestral cultural heritage, natural beauty and wines to die-for. Hospitable and warm places like Stellenbosch, Pearl, Wellington, Franschhoek and Robertson in the Breede River Valley are a must on the itinerary. Also visit the World Heritage Site of Robben Island and the Cape of Good Hope on a Peninsula Tour to learn more about its history.

Half Day Cape Town City Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, get ready for an exciting Half-Day Morning City Tour of Cape Town.
Day 3
Cape Town – Peninsula Tour
After having breakfast at hotel. This tour takes you to the breathtaking meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, revealing why the region is fondly known as the Fairest Cape. Your journey begins with a drive along the stunning Atlantic Seaboard, passing through Sea Point, Clifton, and Camps Bay, with views of some of Cape Town’s most beautiful beaches. Continue on through Llandudno and Hout Bay, with an optional boat trip to Seal Island (weather permitting), then drive via the charming areas of Noordhoek and Scarborough. Afterward, head to the famous Boulders Beach, home to a colony of endangered African penguins (commonly known as Jackass Penguins due to their braying call). You’ll have time to walk along the boardwalks and even get close to these charming creatures. Overnight stay at hotel in Cape Town.
Day 4
Cape Town – Knysna – John Benn Cruise
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and depart by road for Knysna – one of South Africa’s most enchanting coastal towns, located along the scenic Garden Route. The drive takes approximately 5 hours, offering beautiful views of mountain ranges, vineyards, and charming countryside along the way. Upon arrival in Knysna, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax and freshen up. In the evening, enjoy a memorable experience aboard the John Benn Cruise. This leisurely boat ride takes you across the serene Knysna Lagoon, offering stunning views of the Knysna Heads, the twin cliffs that guard the mouth of the lagoon. The double-decker floating restaurant provides a relaxed setting to unwind as you take in the sunset and gentle waters, making it a perfect way to explore the natural beauty of this area. Overnight stay at your hotel in Knysna. Knysna stands out on South Africa's famed Garden Route thanks to the limestone cliffs that dramatically separate its tranquil lagoon from the pounding surf of the Indian Ocean. It's also home to the country's largest indigenous forest. Hop aboard the Outeniqua Choo Choo for a steam engine ride through the scenic highlights. The Millwood Mines at Jubilee Creek, site of a major gold rush in 1885, provide a picturesque spot for a picnic. Be sure to pack the renowned local oysters.
Day 5
Full Day Oudtshoorn Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, get ready for a full-day tour to Oudtshoorn – the ‘Ostrich Capital of the World’, nestled in the semi-arid region of the Little Karoo. Begin with a visit to the famous Cango Caves – one of South Africa’s oldest tourist attractions and a true geological wonder. Explore the breathtaking limestone chambers filled with dramatic stalactites and stalagmites. The guided tour takes you through illuminated caverns with fascinating rock formations, some millions of years old. Next, head to the Cango Wildlife Ranch, a conservation center home to a wide variety of exotic and endangered species. Walk through well-maintained enclosures and get up close with animals such as cheetahs, crocodiles, lemurs, and more. The ranch also offers educational insights into wildlife preservation efforts in South Africa. Conclude your tour with a visit to a Safari Ostrich Farm, where you’ll learn about the history and importance of ostrich farming in the region. Overnight stay at your hotel in Knysna.
Day 6
Knysna to Amakhala Game Reserve
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and begin your journey to the spectacular Amakhala Game Reserve – one of the Eastern Cape’s premier private game reserves, known for its diverse wildlife and luxury safari experiences. Enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful South African countryside as you make your way to the reserve. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge, where you’ll be welcomed with warm hospitality and refreshing drinks. Take some time to relax and settle into your room, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the African bush. Later in the afternoon, embark on an exciting Game Drive, led by experienced rangers in open 4x4 vehicles. Keep your eyes peeled for the famous Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo – as well as giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and a variety of bird species. The drive takes you through diverse landscapes ranging from savannah to riverine forests, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Return to the lodge in the early evening, where you’ll have time to freshen up before dinner. Enjoy a hearty dinner under the African sky or in the cozy lodge dining area, depending on the weather. Share stories of your sightings around the fire and soak in the magic of the bush. Overnight stay at the lodge in Amakhala Game Reserve. Day 7
Amakhala Game Reserve
Start your day with an early morning game drive – one of the best times to witness wildlife as the animals are most active at dawn. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, served in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature. The rest of the morning is at leisure, offering you the chance to unwind at the lodge or take part in optional activities. One highly recommended experience is a guided walking safari, led by professional game rangers. These immersive walks provide a unique opportunity to explore the bush on foot and discover the "Little Five" – ant lion, buffalo weaver, elephant shrew, leopard tortoise, and rhino beetle – along with fascinating plants, tracks, and signs that are often missed during vehicle safaris. Lunch will be served at the lodge, after which you can relax before heading out again for another afternoon game drive, offering a fresh opportunity to spot animals as they begin to stir for the evening. Return to the lodge as the sun sets and enjoy a delicious dinner, reflecting on the day’s adventures and sightings. Overnight stay at your lodge in Amakhala Game Reserve.
Day 8
Amakhala to Port Elizabeth - Johannesburg
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before checking out. After a memorable stay in the wilderness, you will be transferred from Amakhala Game Reserve to Port Elizabeth Airport (approx. 1.5–2 hours by road) for your domestic flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the city. Check in and take some time to relax and settle in. The rest of the day is at leisure, allowing you the flexibility to explore the city at your own pace. You may choose to visit nearby attractions, indulge in some shopping at one of Johannesburg’s popular malls, or simply unwind at the hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel in Johannesburg.

Depart Johannesburg

Things to Look Out For

South Africa's seasons run opposite to home. December and January are high summer, June and July are winter. For Cape Town and the Garden Route, the November-to-March summer is the beach-and-wine window. For Kruger and the safari reserves it flips: the May-to-September dry winter is far better game viewing, when the bush thins and animals crowd the waterholes. A trip doing both compromises on one.

Tipping is woven into the economy here. Ten to fifteen percent in restaurants, and the orange-bibbed 'car guards' who watch your parked car expect a few rand when you return. Keep a pocket of coins and small notes. It feels constant at first; it's how a lot of people earn, and the sums are small.

The animals move at the edges of the day, so the good drives leave camp before sunrise and again in the late afternoon. Cold, dark, and worth every minute as the bush wakes up. Layer up; an open vehicle at 6am in winter is genuinely freezing even when noon hits the high twenties. The midday hours are for the pool and a nap.

When to Go
South Africa rewards different months for different things, because the seasons are southern-hemisphere flipped. The Cape and the Garden Route are at their best in the warm, dry summer from November to March. The big-game reserves. Kruger and the private lodges. View best in the dry winter from May to September, when thin bush and busy waterholes bring the animals into the open. April, May, September and October are the broad shoulder months that balance both. The deep summer can be hot and afternoon-stormy inland.
