A Tibro Journey
Seven winter nights into Bhutan by road. The Bhutan Gate at Phuentsholing, the 2,000-metre climb out of the plains, then the dzongs and the Tiger's Nest before the long drive back to Bagdogra.

Day by Day
7 Nights / 8 Days, in order
Day 1
Njp Rly Station / Ixb Airport – Phuentsholing
Arrival in Bagdogra Airport. Welcome, meet and greet with representative/driver and transfer to Phuentsholing. On arrival, check in at hotel. After that, complete formalities at Border to entry into Bhutan. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Phuentsholing – Thimphu
After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft.) the capital city of Bhutan. On the way, stop at places to view scenery and for Photography. On arrival check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 3
Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast proceed for a panoramic private sightseeing of the capital of Bhutan which includes the following places of interest:, Memorial Chorten, Kuensel Phodrang – World’s Largest Sitting Buddha Statue, Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo, BBS Tower – Provides a vantage point view of the Thimpu Valley., Folk Heritage Museum, Royal Textile Academy & Museum, Anim Dratshang (Nunnery), Trashichhodzong – Fortress in Thimphu, Handicrafts Emporium Dinner & overnight stay in Thimphu. (Note: On weekends, guests would also have the opportunity of visiting the weekend market, an interesting market with local items and bargain price handicraft goods)

Thimphu - Punakha/Wangdue Sightseeing

Punakha/Wangdue - Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro. The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a private sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places:, Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro, National Museum of Bhutan Dinner & overnight stay in Paro. +----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | After breakfast, proceed toward Punakha. Day 6
Excursion to Taktshang Monastery / Chele La Pass
After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Chele La pass (12,200ft) - The highest motorable point in Bhutan. On a clear day one can get a breath-taking view of Mt.Jhomolhari (23,996 ft the second highest peak of Bhutan) and other Himalayan giants. Visit Paro Dzong while returning to Paro. Or, After breakfast visit Taktsang Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It requires 2-3 hours’ trek. Dinner & overnight stay in Paro.
Day 7
Paro Hotel – Phunsholing
After breakfast, check out from hotel and transfer to Phunsholing. Enjoy the scenic drive through forests and mountains. On arrival, check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel
Day 8
Phunsholing – Bagdogra
After breakfast, check out from hotel. Check all documents at border gate counter and transfer to Bagdogra to drop at Airport.

The climb to Taktshang is 3–4 hours up, on graded paths and stone steps. Not technical. Light trail runners do the job; heavy boots are overkill. Carry a thin layer for the top: the wind off the cliff drops the temperature ten degrees in two minutes.

Bhutan's code of etiquette: walk left around chortens and prayer wheels, never point with your feet, never photograph monks or inside dzongs without explicit permission. Your guide will translate the rules in real time; you just need to watch his cues.

When to Go
Bhutan has four crisp seasons. Spring (March–May) is the festival window. Rhododendrons bloom and tsechus run in most dzongs. Autumn (September–November) is the prettiest light, with clear mountain views from Dochula Pass and Paro. June–August is monsoon: the paths turn muddy and the Tiger's Nest views close in. December–February is cold and quiet. Bookable, but pack for sub-zero nights.
Tibro times Paro nights to coincide with the spring tsechu when you ask for it; in autumn the same itinerary pivots to Thimphu's drubchen festival weekend if your dates align.
