Day 1

Arrival in Paro and Drive to Thimphu

Meeting at airport upon arrival by Office Personnel. Transfer to hotel. Arrive at Paro Airport. Complete Immigration formalities and transfer to Thimphu. After checking into your hotel (Early Check-In subject to availability), proceed for a panoramic private sightseeing of the capital of Bhutan which includes the following places of interest:, Memorial Chorten, Kuensel Phodrang – World’s Largest Sitting Buddha Statue, Takin Reserve & Mini Zoo, BBS Tower – Provides a vantage point view of the Thimphu Valley. Dinner & overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2

Thimphu Sightseeing

After breakfast, proceed for full day private sightseeing tour of Thimphu, which includes the following places of interest:, Folk Heritage Museum, Royal Textile Academy & Museum, Anim Dratshang (Nunnery), Trashichhodzong – Fortress in Thimphu, Handicrafts Emporium Dinner & overnight stay in Thimphu. (Note: On weekends, guests would also have the opportunity of visiting the weekend market, an interesting market with local items and bargain price handicraft goods)

Thimphu to Punakha

Gangtey-Phobjikha Valley Excursion

After breakfast, start for full day excursion trip to Gangtey Valley (9,842 ft.). On the way you shall come across different flora and fauna, monuments, villages and people. Stop at places for sightseeing and photography. While in Gangtey visit the Gangtey Goemba the only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan, which was established in the 17th century. Then explore the Phobjikha valley, one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in the Himalayas and the winter roosting place for the endangered Black Necked Cranes which migrates from the arid plains of Tibet in the north. You may choose to hike around the Valley. After visiting the valley drive back to Punakha. Overnight stay at Punakha / Wangdue. Alternatively, instead of going to Gangtey / Phobjikha, you also have an option of spending the day in Punakha Valley itself. After breakfast hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten which is about 45 Mins easy hike to the top of the hill. It offers a breath-taking view of the Punakha Valley. After that visit you may like to indulge in adventure of water rafting. Later visit The Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, a temple plus nunnery perched on a ridge overlooking Toebesa village, Punakha and Wangduephodrang valleys. Rest of the day free for leisure. On reaching, check-in and | | later proceed for visit to Punakha Dzong, Punakha suspension bridge and Chimi Lakhang | | (fertility temple). Day 5

Punakha to Paro

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro. The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom up to Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley. After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a private sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places:, Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro, National Museum of Bhutan Dinner & overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6

Paro Day Excursions

After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Chele La pass (12,200ft) - The highest motorable point in Bhutan. On a clear day one can get a breath-taking view of Mt. Jhomolhari (23,996 ft. the second highest peak of Bhutan) and other Himalayan giants. Visit Paro Dzong while returning to Paro. Or, After breakfast visit Taktsang Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It requires 2-3 hours’ trek. Famously known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is Bhutan’s most iconic landmark and a sacred Buddhist site perched precariously on a cliffside 900 metres above the Paro Valley. Dinner & overnight stay in Paro.
