China Import and Export Fair
Introduction of the 139 th Canton Fair China Import and Export Fair, also known as the “Canton Fair”, is an important channel for China’s foreign trade sector and a demonstration of China’s opening up policy. It plays a key role in advancing the development of China’s foreign trade and the economic and trade exchanges between China and the rest of the world. And it is renowned as “China’s No. 1 Fair”.
The Canton Fair (also known as China Import and Export Fair) started in 1957 and is now one of the biggest trade events on the international trading calendar. This trade event in China is organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC) and dually hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the government of Guangdong Province. Considering its start date and consistency, it is regarded as the oldest and largest trade event in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Thus, invariably the highest revenue-generating trade fair in China. In conjunction with other exhibitions held in Guangzhou and Shanghai, the total venues operated by the CFTC in these areas to the world’s exhibition facilities with about 10,700,000 sq.m in total.
The Canton Fair is a biannual event, held in April and October every year. More than sixteen broad product categories are on exhibit, and the Fair is held in three Phases, covering industrial and consumer products. Last year, it attracted over 31,000 exhibitors and 190,000 visitors to each of its sessions
Canton Fair Phase 1 (April 15th - 19th):
The first phase focuses on industrial buyers seeking the latest in electronics and appliances (think TVs, phones), machinery and tools (for manufacturing), vehicles (cars, motorcycles), lighting and electrical (bulbs, fixtures), and hardware (construction supplies).
Canton Fair Phase 2 (April 23rd - 27th):
This phase is perfect for those looking for household items. You can find everything from kitchenware and tableware to decorative items and gifts. Construction and building materials, along with furniture, are also on display during this phase.
Canton Fair Phase 3 (May 1st - 5th):
This last phase is one for a wider consumer audience. Discover a vast selection of toys, baby and maternity products, clothing and fashion accessories, home textiles (like towels and bedding), stationery (office supplies), and health and recreational products.
Exhibitors can complete the process digitally, including application for participation, booth arrangement, product displaying and onsite preparation. This trade veteran connects China's businesses with the world, solidifying its position as a global economic powerhouse.
