Day 1
Arrive Zurich – Transfer to Montreux
Upon arrival at Zurich Airport, complete the airport formalities and transfer to train station to board the train to Montreux city with your swiss pass. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend some time settling in. Later, visit the beautiful Chillon Castle, perched on a small island on Lac Léman (Lake Geneva) near the town of Montreux. This medieval fortress is one of Switzerland’s most visited landmarks, offering stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy a relaxed evening by the lakeside before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel in Montreux.
Day 2
Montreux to Gstaad – Glacier 3000
Today post breakfast travel from Montreux to Gstaad, a scenic train journey of approximately one and a half hours. Once you arrive at Gstaad station, board the yellow Post-Bus heading towards Les Diablerets, and get off at Col-du-Pillon, the base station for Glacier 3000. Exchange your mountain voucher at the counter and take the cable car up to the summit, changing once at the midway station. At the top, experience the thrilling Tissot Peak Walk, a suspension bridge that connects two mountain peaks and offers breath-taking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. After descending by cable car, spend some time exploring the charming village of Gstaad, famous for its alpine scenery and traditional Swiss charm. Later, return by train to Montreux for an overnight stay. Overnight stay at your hotel in Montreux.
Day 3
Montreux to Zermatt
Breakfast at hotel. Checkout from the hotel and transfer towards train station to board the train to Zermatt with Swiss pass. After checking in to your hotel, visit Sunnegga, also known as the “sunny corner,” which can be reached in less than five minutes by a funicular train from the valley station in Zermatt with swiss pass. From here, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Matterhorn and surrounding alpine landscapes. Spend the evening exploring the cozy village streets or relaxing at your hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel in Zermatt.
Day 4
Zermatt to Matterhorm Paradise
Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel, preparing for an unforgettable alpine adventure. Later, embark on an excursion to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, the highest cable car station in Europe and one of Switzerland’s most iconic destinations. Ascend to the viewing platform and soak in breathtaking 360-degree panoramas of the surrounding snow-capped peaks, including the world-renowned Matterhorn, celebrated as one of the most photographed mountains in the world. The glacier area remains accessible throughout the year, offering a variety of snow activities, scenic walks, and perfect spots for capturing stunning photographs. After an exhilarating day amid the Alps, return to your hotel in Zermatt for an overnight stay. Overnight stay at your hotel in Zermatt.
Day 5
Zermatt to Lucerne – Mount Titlis
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, check out and embark on a scenic train journey to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most picturesque cities. As the train winds its way through the Swiss countryside, you will be treated to breathtaking views of lush valleys, majestic mountains, and quaint villages, offering plenty of photo opportunities along the route. Upon arrival in Lucerne, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax and freshen up. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. set out in the morning for a scenic train ride to Engelberg, the gateway to Mount Titlis. Ascend to the summit in the Titlis ROTAIR, the world’s first revolving cable car, offering breathtaking 360° views of the majestic Alps. Spend your day exploring the snow-covered landscapes: - Walk across the Titlis Cliff Walk, Europe’s highest suspension bridge, for awe-inspiring panoramic views. - Take a ride on the Ice Flyer chair lift, bringing you up close to the glittering glaciers and snowfields. Overnight stay at your hotel in Lucerne. Please note that traveling from Zermatt to Interlaken requires 2 train changes, after which you can continue to Lucerne. Trains from Interlaken to Lucerne run hourly. Seat reservations are mandatory for the Luzern–Interlaken Express at an additional cost.
Day 6
Lucerne – Free Day
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, preparing for a day of exploration in the charming city of Lucerne. Start by visiting the iconic Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), a beautifully preserved wooden bridge adorned with historic paintings, and take a leisurely stroll through Lucerne’s picturesque Old Town, where cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and colorful frescoed facades create a captivating atmosphere. Take time to admire the majestic mountains surrounding Lake Lucerne, which provide a stunning backdrop to the city. You may also choose to enjoy a scenic boat tour on the lake, offering panoramic views of the city and the surrounding alpine landscape. Next, visit the Lion Monument (Löwendenkmal), a poignant rock carving that commemorates the Swiss Guards who lost their lives during the French Revolution in 1792. This evocative monument is a must-see and offers a moment of reflection amidst your sightseeing. Overnight stay at your hotel in Lucerne.
Day 7
Lucerne – Interlaken – Visit Harder Klum
After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Lucerne and take a scenic train ride to Interlaken, a picturesque resort town nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, surrounded by the majestic Bernese Alps. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax for a while. Later, visit Harder Kulm, Interlaken’s famous viewpoint, accessible by a funicular that takes you up in just 10 minutes. From the top, enjoy breath-taking panoramic views of Interlaken, the glittering lakes below, and the snow-capped peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. Spend some time at the viewing platform or the restaurant on the summit before descending back to the town. Overnight stay at your hotel in Interlaken.
Day 8
Interlaken – Mt Jungfraujoch With Eiger Express
Start your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel. Afterward, embark on an exciting journey to Mt. Jungfraujoch, also known as the "Top of Europe." Board a scenic train to ascend to Jungfraujoch, located at an altitude of 4,158 meters. Marvel at the breathtaking views of the Bernese Alps, stretching between the northern canton of Bern and the southern canton of Valais. Explore highlights at the summit, including the Ice Palace, Sphinx Observatory, and panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers. After descending, spend the rest of your day exploring the local charm of Interlaken town. Stroll through its picturesque streets, visit quaint shops, or relax at Höhematte Park while soaking in the alpine views. Overnight stay at your hotel in Interlaken.
Day 9
Interlaken – Zurich – Day Free for Leisure
after breakfast, check out from your hotel in Interlaken and take a train to Zurich, Switzerland’s largest and most cosmopolitan city. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. You can spend your time exploring Bahnhofstrasse, one of the world’s most exclusive shopping streets, stroll along the scenic Lake Zurich promenade, or visit the charming Old Town (Altstadt) with its cobblestone lanes, boutique stores, and cozy cafés. For art and culture lovers, Zurich also offers excellent museums such as the Kunsthaus Zurich and the Swiss National Museum.

Zurich Departure

The Swiss Travel Pass earns its price
Buy it. The 8-day pass covers every train, boat, and most cable cars on this itinerary. Jungfraujoch and Titlis are the only big paid extras. Without it, individual tickets add up to roughly twice what the pass costs, and the convenience of skipping every ticket window is worth it on its own.
Cloud is the variable, not rain
Jungfraujoch at 11,000 ft is brilliant in sun and a white-out in cloud. Same day, different hour. Move the high-altitude excursions to whichever morning the forecast looks clearest; everything else (Lucerne, Interlaken, Zurich old towns) reads fine in any weather. Check meteoblue the night before, not the week before.
Fondue is for cold months; raclette is for any month
A cheese-fondue dinner in June feels like overdressing. Order raclette instead. Same Alpine cheese tradition, melted off a half-wheel against new potatoes and pickles, eaten in any temperature. Or save the fondue for one specific evening at altitude (Schynige Platte, Männlichen) where the cold does the work for it.

Plan Your Timing
When to Go
Switzerland runs on three windows. May through September is the Alpine summer. Every cable car running, every trail open, the lakes at their bluest. December through March is the ski season; the same villages are unrecognisable under snow. The shoulders (April, October–November) are either muddy or shut. The 9-night itinerary works best mid-summer.
Avoid late April / early May (Alpine pastures still closed) and November (lake fog, museums on reduced hours). Mid-June through mid-September is the prime window.
