    Oman,
    by the wadis.

The quiet Arabia. Muscat and its Grand Mosque, the fort town of Nizwa, the Wahiba dunes at dusk, and the turquoise pools of Wadi Shab to close.

Muscat, the Grand Mosque at first light
Preface, on the Arabia that kept its old face

Oman is the Gulf that did not trade its forts for glass towers. Muscat for the Grand Mosque and the Mutrah corniche; Nizwa for the Friday fort and the goat market; the Wahiba Sands for one camp night on the dunes; the wadis. Shab, Bani Khalid. For the turquoise pools you swim through. One Muscat, one Nizwa, one desert, one wadi. Best between October and March, before the heat returns.

    Colophon

    A small note
    on how we work.

Tibro has routed Oman since 2021. Muscat mornings, Wahiba camp nights, and the wadi swims that travellers remember longer than any hotel.

We work with a Muscat-based partner who handles the country drives and a Wahiba desert camp held on retainer through the cool season.

One route is what we maintain today; more sit in the studio's drafts. We route Muscat, then Nizwa, then the desert, then the wadis, because the trip should get quieter as it goes.

    An open letter

    Tell us how many
    nights, and whether the desert.

Two questions decide an Oman trip: how many nights, and whether to add a Wahiba camp night to the Muscat-and-Nizwa loop.
